Different ways to learn
When concentration, getting started on tasks or planning feels difficult, or your child has different learning needs, such as dyslexia or giftedness**, everyday schoolwork can become challenging. We help children understand their individual strengths and difficulties, build confidence and develop practical learning strategies that make it easier to move forward.
How can we help?
Do you find yourself explaining the same task over and over, constantly reminding your child about homework, or facing frustration whenever you ask them to do something? Sometimes, **changing the way we approach everyday challenges can make all the difference. At KlinikNord, we help parents explore the patterns and interactions surrounding homework, schoolwork and everyday expectations. How do you give instructions? When is it helpful to step in, and when is it better to encourage your child to try independently? And how can you set realistic expectations that support your child's development while respecting their individual learning needs? Together, we develop practical parenting strategies to reduce homework battles, improve communication and build your child's confidence and independence – creating a calmer home environment where learning feels more manageable for everyone.
Gifted
At KlinikNord, we support gifted children and teenagers in understanding their unique strengths, recognising their challenges and developing strategies that work for them. We focus on motivation, appropriate academic challenges, friendships and a sense of belonging. Gifted children may have advanced intellectual abilities while still needing support with emotional regulation, executive functioning, planning and social relationships. Working closely with families and, where appropriate, schools, we help create a better balance between academic potential and everyday needs – supporting confidence, enjoyment of learning and emotional wellbeing.
Twice exceptional/2e
Some **gifted children** also have learning or developmental differences, such as **dyslexia, autism or ADHD**. These children are often described as **twice-exceptional (2e)**. Being twice-exceptional can make a child's needs harder to recognise. Their intellectual strengths may mask underlying difficulties, while challenges with learning, attention or social interaction can make it difficult for others to see their true potential. At KlinikNord, we have experience supporting twice-exceptional children and young people, helping families and schools understand both their strengths and challenges. Together, we develop practical strategies and individualised support that encourage learning, independence and emotional wellbeing. Because sometimes, even a small change in understanding or approach can make a big difference to a child's everyday life.
Dysleia
At KlinikNord, we help children and teenagers with dyslexia understand how they learn, recognise their strengths and build confidence in their abilities. We focus on **self-esteem, managing frustration and developing practical learning strategies** that make reading, writing and everyday schoolwork feel more manageable. We also support parents with practical advice on helping children with dyslexia at home and working closely with schools to ensure they receive appropriate reading, writing and learning support. Our goal is to help every child feel more confident, independent and motivated to learn – recognising that dyslexia is just one part of who they are, not a measure of their potential.
Learning disabilities
Individualised help based on your child's perspective
